Hungry, hungry doxie

I don't know if you know this or not, but doxie's are always hungry. I don't mean like we could eat a little extra treat now & then, I mean hun-ga-ryy!!  Feed-me-now-or-I'm-gonna-starve-to-death hungry!!

So every day I am sure to let mom know when it is time for my bowl to be prepared, you know, in my quiet low key bark inside voice. My first dinner is my favorite 'cause I get greeny beanies w/ my kibble!!  Mmmm mmm, I loooove greeny beanies.  I can hardly contain myself waiting for mom to get my bowl ready, I tell her so too.  Then, she makes me "wait"... WAIT to start eating!!  Oh the dog-manity!!

But I wait because I'm a good boy & when she says "okay" I gobble it all down in about one minute...

There is nothing sadder than an empty food bowl, so I make sure to give mom my most pitiful gaze to let her know that it simply wasn't enough & that I'm wasting away... which never works, of course, & I have to wait a whole 2 hours to have my second dinner.

I have to go now, I have to go tell mom it's about that time...

Ahhh, sleepy sleepy nap time.  Mom & I took a break today after going to Bark in the Park.

We had a great time today, I got to meet tons of new doggies & smell all kinds of stinky smells & I ate a bunch of treaties.  Every booth was giving them out & we went around more than once so by the time we got home my tummy was FULL!!

And mom even got 2 new scarves for me to wear, 1 is even for Christmas time!!  Check 'em out...

Moment of Silence

Today is a day for sadness & remembrance.  One of mine & mom's favorite blogs is The Long & Short of it All & today the sad news came that the hostess of this wonderful site, Maggie, has passed over the rainbow bridge.  She leaves behind her brother (Joey) & dad and tons of admirers around the globe and she will definitely be missed.  Mom & I are very sad to hear this news & just wanted to pay our respects to Maggie, below are some quotes mom found that express how we feel:

"You think dogs will not be in heaven? I tell you, they will be there long before any of us."
                               (Robert Louis Stevenson)

"Not the least hard thing to bear when they go from us, these quiet friends, is that they carry away with them so many years of our own lives."
                                       (John Galsworthy)

"Dogs don't know about beginnings, and they don't speculate on matters that occurred before their time. Dogs also don't know — or at least don't accept — the concept of death. With no concept of beginnings or endings dogs probably don't know that for people having a dog as a life companion provides a streak of light between two eternities of darkness."
                                         (Stanley Coren )

"A person who has never owned a dog has missed a wonderful part of life."
                                           (Bob Barker)

Rest in peace sweet Maggie.

Write a Post, Help a Dog

Hey everybody!!

So mom & I were checking out all our blog friends pages today & we came across a great way to help shelter pets!!  It's called Write a Post, Help a Dog and it's sponsored by Pedigree.  It's really simple, all you have to do write a simple blog post & then link up to the Blog Hop and *poof* doggies get fed... how awesome is that?!? I told mom we had to do it so here we are:)

You can copy the info below & repost, it's SOOOO simple:)

How you can help in 2011
Simply spread the word about Write a Post, Help a Dog 2011 and once again Pedigree will donate 20 pounds of food for each blogger's post. Here's all you need to include in your post:

  • The Write a Post, Help a Dog program is aimed at raising awareness and food for the more than four million dogs that wind up in shelters and breed rescues each year.
  • For each blog post mentioning the Pedigree Foundation from now until midnight ET on September 3, Pedigree will donate 20 pounds of its new dry Pedigree recipe food for dogs -- its best recipe ever -- to a shelter, because every dog deserves leading nutrition.
  • The Pedigree Foundation -- a 501 (C)(3) nonprofit organization is committed to helping dogs by providing grants to shelters and rescues and encouraging dog adoption. This year the Foundation has already raised more than $376,570 against its goal of $1.5 million to carry out its work to fund grants that not only help shelters operate, but to further shelter innovations.
The Pedigree Foundation depends on charitable contributions from individuals to carry out its mission to help dogs find loving homes. In addition to writing a blog post, here's how you can help:

Then, link up to Blog Hop, hosted by the Pedigree BlogPaws bloggers to help spread the word about Write a Post, Help a Dog

I hope that everyone who visits my page will help out shelter pets all over the country by posting on their own page.  Thanks alot!!
